Thailand Room #30DayWriting Challenge

#30DayWritingChallenge | DAY 8: The Power of Music

You might find the featured image irrelevant to my post about the POWER of MUSIC. This entry is for the long overdue #30DayWritingChallenge of 2022.

Please continue reading, and you’ll know.

Just listening to this song makes me cry. I can recall those days when I was so brave, but my heart was breaking.

For my 3-hour travel to Thailand, I listened to this song. JUST TO THIS SONG. It was on a loop for three hours. It was crazy, but I don’t want to do anything else on the plane, just listen to it. I thought I was going to stay in that foreign place for so long. I was wrong, sad, but now I know why.

I was pushing myself to my limits. A dream to travel ALONE and FAR was realized. I unlocked the goal of working abroad and visiting another country. But, my room in Thailand witnessed how I almost lost my sanity during my stay there.

The power of music can’t be underestimated.

I survived my 3-week stay in the foreign country because of the songs that reminded me how I should be proud of what I was doing at that time – ALL ALONE in a foreign land.

Even after I arrived, music was healing me. Even now, when negative thoughts are flocking into my conscious mind, I mute them by deafening myself with the loudest songs I can listen to. Music helps me keep my sanity.

This #30DayWritingChallenge is about the POWER OF MUSIC and I want to share that part of my life with my readers. This reality about me is a reminder that no matter how we carefully plan everything, we are led somewhere to a destination — a place or a situation where we’ll know ourselves better, and where we understand more about life.

Finish this #30DayWritingChallenge with me.
