Weather Right Now in the Davao Region

Right now, in Panabo, Davao Region, it’s partly cloudy with a temperature of 29°C. The wind is blowing from the north at 13 km/h. The UV index is low, at 1.

There is currently an Extreme General Flood Advisory in effect for the Davao Region, so please be aware of the possibility of flooding and take necessary precautions.

Davao Del Norte:

  • Flooding:
    • 30 flooded areas were reported as of January 17th.
    • Most affected municipalities include New Corella, Kapalong, and Panabo City.
    • Floodwaters have receded in some areas, but the situation remains volatile due to the ongoing Extreme General Flood Advisory.
    • Evacuation procedures and rescue operations are ongoing in affected areas.
  • Landslides:
    • No reported landslides in Davao Del Norte as of January 18th.

Davao de Oro:

  • Flooding:
    • 4 flooded areas reported as of January 17th.
    • Most affected areas include Mawab, Nabunturan, and Maragusan.
    • Floodwaters have subsided in some areas.
  • Landslides:
    • 8 rain-induced landslides reported, causing significant damage and loss of life.
    • 7 people confirmed dead and 10 missing in a landslide in Barangay Camanlangan, New Bataan.
    • Other landslides have occurred in Linda (Nabunturan), Gubatan (Maco), Mt. Diwata (Monkayo), and Haguimitan (Sitio Totoy and Sitio Palo).

Overall:

  • 45,000 families (approximately 187,000 individuals) across the Davao Region have been affected by the floods and landslides.
  • 1,990 families are currently residing in evacuation centers.
  • Roads and infrastructure have been damaged, hampering rescue and relief efforts.
  • The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is still monitoring the situation and issuing weather advisories.
  • An Extreme General Flood Advisory remains in effect for the entire Davao Region.
