Blog Prompt | Entry 2

What’s your dream job?

I want to be a writer ❤️

Reflecting on my works and comparing my outputs to how others are producing creative write-ups, expressing their thoughts vividly, crafting sceneries filled with intense emotions or light writings that mirror relatable everyday life activities, I can say that I am not YET a good writer.

I always say that I am fascinated with words. They’re like cute balloons to my eyes, and popping them one by one through reading tickles my desire to produce more. They’re like cupcakes to my palate, and for every bite, they sprinkle happiness 🤍

Becoming an author of a book is a dream for me. I also wanted to work in a publishing company. Or, I want to earn and travel as a writer. But I can’t just give up my teaching job, so here I am on this blog 😅

This is the reason why I am maintaining this blog because it feels like I am living a dream with it. This blog is very unstructured and unorganized because it is random because it is ME, and I am not perfect 😬

My Previous Jobs before Teaching

I finished my bachelor’s degree in 2009. Just a month after desperately looking for a job, I landed one in our hometown as a project implementer. It only lasted two months because the project ended without us knowing why. It was a contractual job at DENR.

After that job, I applied as a personal secretary to a business owner. It lasted for a month. I resigned because I realized that I was underemployed with a degree I had finished from a university, and I ended up working a job with a lower minimum salary. I can no longer recall the name of the sticker business, but I still can identify the location and am happy knowing that they are still operating.

On February 1, 2010, I was hired as a data researcher in a BPO company. It was a pleasant experience working as a parser of documents, but what I was doing at that time was my freelance writing gigs, which I think made me earn more and meet more beautiful beings from other parts of the world. It was in 2013 when I decided to become a teacher because I wanted to go home. It was a plan ‘we’ both made, my ex-boyfriend and me, with whom I was in a relationship for seven years ^_^

My relationship with that person ended, but my love for writing and teaching continues forever. LOL!

My Passion for Writing

Honestly, I am not confident writing in English because of its technicalities. I am even supported by Grammarly while writing this piece. But still, I love to write. I want to create something from these tiny little words that can move mountains, create another world, make impossible things possible, and Touch and Change lives.

In me is a burning desire to WRITE. I am not sure when I can find my writing style, my writing voice, my tone, or not even sure if I can still find it given that I am writing different kinds of write-ups every day because of my teaching and other part-time writing jobs. Still, I am going to WRITE as long as my hands and my eyes and my senses, my mind, and my heart permits me.

Writing is my way of living. I genuinely want to become a writer.
