#bloggingbranding: Why I Started to Blog: My Journey in This Long and Winding Road of Blogging

This is my entry for blogging branding.

Call me desperate because I am.

Just imagine me starting in 2009, yet I ended up doing things the first time again and again. Every year I buy domains and then let it expire and then buy another one after a few months.

So, where did that road take me? Here, at nothing!

The funny thing is I am not giving up yet because I am here again. I am giving myself the chance to realize my blogging dreams and goals. I hope this time, I am starting it right.

I enrolled in the Blogging University by WordPress.com, and I would like to do a particular task first, to define my reasons, to know my purpose.

#1. I blog because I believe there is money in it.

Yes, that is my first reason, and I won’t be ashamed of it. That is why I keep on coming back to this same track because that goal has not been unlocked yet. I want to prove to myself and everyone that there is money in blogging.

Well, I had a blog before, which helped me earn $100 for a sponsored post. Now, I am trying to recall how I did that. I was very focused on increasing my PAGE RANK before, and when I reached PR1, that offer arrived.

I hope to do that once again, but this time, I want to be more consistent. I want to make more. I want to prove that this blogging can be a source of passive income.

#2. I blog because I love to write.

Aside from the unlocked goals, this WRITING hobby fuels me to keep blogging even if I am such a great disappointment in the blogosphere. I do have clients in writing. Accomplishing the tasks consumes so much of my time that I always forget that I have my blog to maintain.

This time, I want to create my own space on the web. With Jevannel Academy, I wanted my words to reach millions of readers. Call me ambitious because I am.

#3. I blog because I wanted to teach and share whatever I have.

This is the reason behind JEVANNEL ACADEMY; this is a SCHOOL OF LIFE. As an educator, I wanted to share my knowledge with anyone who will reach my blog and read my posts.

I want my readers to get something every time they are here with me. My niche is LEARNING anything about life. I know that is broad, but I like it that way.

I hope this time this journey will give me meaningful experience. I hope this decision to enroll in this online course will help me.

The first task I need to accomplish in this online course is defining my blogging goals.

It needs to be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bounded).

  1. POST TWICE A WEEK at least a 300-word post about teaching and learning.
  2. SPEND at least 30 minutes every day to comment, follow, and like other bloggers.
  3. Send a wrap-up email about seven things to learn for this week, tagging my posts and five other blogs. Do it every Sunday Night.

My heart is beating fast. Is this excitement or fear? I hope I can accomplish this with so many things to do every single day!

Well, I need to give it a try!

There are goals to achieve; there are purposes that serve as my guide and inspiration.

HAPPY BLOGGING YOU ALL!
